GyroHSR's and John Deere's Smackdown Campaign Wins Best in Show at BtoB's Best Awards

GyroHSR Again Dominates Key U.S. Awards in 2009

CHICAGO – (November 16, 2009) – BtoB magazine named GyroHSR’s and John Deere’s Smackdown campaign Best in Show at their awards ceremony in New York City on Thursday. In addition to winning the Best in Show from BtoB, Smackdown was also the overall winner in the integrated small and trade show categories for John Deere in BtoB’s Best Awards. Brian Peters, president of GyroHSR Chicago, and Brett Bedard, advertising manager for John Deere Construction & Forestry, accepted the award.

“The Skid Steer Smackdown campaign really has the marketplace taking a fresh look at John Deere,” said Bedard. “It’s great that GyroHSR’s creative work for us is not only having an impact on customers and prospects, but also on our peers in business marketing more broadly.”

“This caps off what has already been a remarkable year for John Deere,” said Peters. “They have now been recognized at four of the industry’s most prestigious awards, receiving several Pro-Comm Awards and Tower Awards, the Grand CEBA award and now the Best in Show at BtoB’s Best.”

It has also been a remarkable awards season for GyroHSR with the agency dominating the key U.S. awards in 2009. The agency has won six of the industry’s most prestigious awards including:

  • Top Agency of the Year by BtoB magazine
  • 13 Pro-Comm Awards from the Business Marketing Association (BMA) including Best of Division – Total Communications Program for the Pitney Bowes corporate branding campaign
  • 14 Chicago BMA Tower Awards, winning the most overall and gold awards
  • BMA’s Silver Sledgehammer award for Agency of the Year and Best of Print category for Delta Dental
  • Two CEBA awards from American Business Media including the Grand CEBA for John Deere Construction “High Speed Dozer” launch event
  • BtoB’s Best in Show for John Deere Smackdown

GyroHSR was also the recipient of eight BtoB’s Best Awards for the USG, Makino and Delta Dental account teams. Collectively with John Deere, these accounts won nine different BtoB’s Best Awards, the best showing in the agency’s history.
